WPIAL Adds “Second” Cut Times for 2020 2021 WPIAL Swimming Championship
WPIAL revised the 2020 – 2021 Swimming Qualifying Standards and added second “cut” times for the WPIAL Swimming Championship. As outlined in the addendum added on January 19 to the Document released on January 12, this is how it works (https://wpial.org/wp-content/uploads/2020-2021-SWIM-DIVE-Cover-FINAL-Revised-1-12-21.pdf):
- Swimmers and Relays that achieve the “Automatic” time will be able to automatically enter that event in the WPIAL Championship Meet (if they choose to).
- Individual swimmers and Relays that make the “Second” cut time (original WPIAL standard) should still send in a meet entry as described in the January 12 document.
- Heats for each event will be filled with “Automatic” times first then all remaining positions will be filled with the next fastest “Second” cut time entries submitted.
- The revision does not affect current qualifying standards for Diving.
